Proposed Homosexuality Bill in Uganda . . . update

I have talked to Pastor Hudson Suubi about the homosexual issues that have drawn much controversy here in Uganda. He believes that the way the situation is going to be handled as it pertains to the Law that is in place or will be in place is that punishment for this practice is going to be prison.

He said that the death penalty is something that the radicals have pursued, but he does not believe that there will be any law or laws supporting such thought.

He went on to say that these men and women must be saved and cleansed. The only way that one would have an opportunity to present them the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Good News, is if they are a live and can HEAR! Therefore death is not an option but the Agape Love of God is!!!

One of the questions that we have is, who is to determine who is and who is not gay.

Open demonstrations of these acts such as parades etc can label you with out a doubt. But if there are ones who want to cause damage and just go around accusing and using these new laws as ways to get back at someone etc needs much wisdom. We also know that in our country with little to no morals that we treat people more humanely then this. Bottom line, there is no excuse for these acts to be public or enforced upon heterosexuals to tolerate. We as Christians must love the people, but we are not to love the sin. Sin has eternal consequences.

Hudson did say in regards to false accusations that the government has a very detailed system in place for checking up on those suspected of activities that violate Ugandan Law. If this is the case, this should help eliminate false accusations. This is a very serious matter. To be falsely accused and thrown into most prisons would be a violation of anybody’s human rights do to the activities that go there.

Not sure if this answers all of the questions surrounding the immoral issues of Homosexuality, but is what appears to be the best way to deal with this subject here in Uganda.

My closing thoughts on this issue are that we know as Christians that the homosexual lifestyle is not condoned but condemned Biblically and in most cultures it is not condoned Morally, but what will cause real change to happen in the lives of these men and women who practice homosexuality is the God Kind Of Love, called APAGE! God’s Love, Will Never Fail!!! His LOVE will lead you to the foot of the Cross where all men and women are Equal and are Forgiven if they Receive His AGAPE LOVE!!

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.
